Microsoft Powerpoint
A piece of Microsoft's "Office Suite." It is commonly used in a variety of ways by business, education and government employees to provide a computerized "slide-show" for enhancing a presentation.

How To Create a Presentation
(Classroom Tutorial)

1. Launch Microsoft Powerpoint



2. If you want to use a theme, click Design in the menu bar.

3. Click on the specific theme you want from the list of choices.



4. Click on the 'Click to add title' and 'Click to add subtitle' boxes to add information about your presentation.



5. Click on 'New Slide' in the Home menu bar to add new slides.



6.Continue adding information and pictures as you see it.



7. Once finished, click on File, Save As the name of your presentation file and Save.



8. You may change the Picture Style by clicking on the picture, click Format in the menu bar, and choose your style.



9. Click Insert in the menu bar, click Text Box to add text and press Enter.



10. To add Transitions, click Transitions in the menu bar and you may scroll through all the choices.



11. To add Animations, click Animations in the menu bar and you may scroll through all the choices.


12. You may sort the order of animation in the Reorder Animation.



13. Click Insert in the menu bar and click Sound to add audio.



14. You may edit the audio by using the Audio Tools in the menu bar.



15. To add a video, click Insert in the menu bar, click Video.



16. Proceed your presentation to the end using these basic steps.

Blogger
A blog originally came from the word “weblog” or a “web log”. You can think of it as an online journal or diary, although blogs are used for much more now, like online journalism. A blogger is someone who blogs, or writes content for a blog. Blogging is the act of writing a post for a blog.


Create a Blog ?


2. On the left, click the Down arrow Down Arrow

3. Click New blog.

4. Enter a name for your blog.

5. Choose a blog address, or URL.

6. Choose a template.

7. Click Create blog.


How to change design using HTML or CSS ?
1. Choose the blog to update.
2. In the left menu, click Theme.
3. Under “Live on Blog,” click Edit HTML.
4. Make the changes you want.
5. Click Save theme.

How to change mouse cursor ?

1. Backup your Template.

2. Click on The Template >> Edit HTML >> Proceed.

3. Now find [by pressing Ctrl + F ] this code in the template


4. And immediately before it, paste this code:

How To Add Pages ?

1.  click on the 'Pages'

2. Click the 'New Page'

3. Type the page title, add the page content and then click 'Publish'

4. Add the Pages gadget to your layout to make the categories appear on your blog. Go back to 'Layout' and click on 'Add a Gadget'.

5. Choose 'Pages' from the list of gadget options

6. Drag and drop your pages to rearrange them in the order you want them to appear and then click 'Save'.

7. Add some web addresses or links to labels along with your blank pages. Click on the 'Pages' gadget and choose '+ Add link page'.

8. Type the title you want to appear in the navigation bar. In the URL box, insert the web address you want to link to.  Then click 'Save'

9. Now view your blog to see new pages and navigation bar.

How To Add Songs To Your Blog ?

1. Click on this website https://www.wikplayer.com/

2. Choose how you want to start. If you have generated a Wikplayer code before, choose Import. If you are new, click Create New Playlist.

3. Choose a skin and placement of Music Player

4. Enter Title and URL for each song.

5. Song URL can be MP3 link, SoundCloud track or Youtube address.

6. If you click the Play button and after a while, no music is played. Please re-check your link.

7. You can add more songs and sort your playlist.

8. Configure the settings and click Done.

Operating System Functions

1. Starting Computers and Mobile Devices
If a computer or mobile device is off, you press a power button to turn it on.

2. User Interface (UI) 
Controls how you enter data and instructions and how information is displayed on the screen.


3. Memory Management 
Optimizes the use of the computer or device’s internal memory.

4. Virtual Memory
A portion of a storage medium functioning as additional RAM.

Types of Operating System


1. Desktop Operating Systems
A complete operating system that works on desktops, laptops, and some tablets.


2. Server Operating System
Aoperating system specifically designed to run on servers, which are specialized computers that operate within a client/server architecture to serve the requests of client computers on the network.




3. Mobile Operating System
A mobile operating system is an operating system for phones, tablets, smartwatches, or other mobile devices.

Windows Phone

Developed by Microsoft, is a proprietary mobile operating system that runs on some smartphones.



Android Phone

An open source, Linux-based mobile operating system designed by Google for smartphones and tablets.

iOS Phone
Developed by Apple, is a proprietary mobile operating system specifically made for Apple’s mobile devices.

Chapter 8 - Digital Storage


Storage Medium
The physical material on which a computer keeps data, information, programs, and applications.
Examples : USB Flash Drive, Hard Disk, Optical Disk

Capacity

The number of bytes a storage medium can hold

Hard Disk
Contains one or more inflexible, circular platters that use magnetic particles to store data, instructions, and information.
How It Works

Head Crash
Cccurs when a read/write head touches the surface of a platter.


External Hard Disk
A separate freestanding storage device that connects with a cable to a USB port or other port on a computer or mobile device.

Flash Memory

A type of solid state media and contain no moving parts.
Examples : Solid State Drive (SSD), Hard Disk Drive (HDD)



Memory Card
A removable flash memory device that you insert and remove from a slot in a computer, mobile device, or card reader/writer.

USB Flash Drives 
Plug into a USB port on a computer or mobile device.

Cloud Storage
An Internet service that provides storage to computer  or mobile device users.

Optical Disk
Consists of a flat, round, portable disc made of metal, plastic, and lacquer that is written and read by a laser. 
Examples : CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW

Differences of DVD


Magnetic Stripe Card 
Contains a magnetic stripe that stores information.

Smart Card
Stores data on an integrated circuit embedded in the card.
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
The tags consists of an antenna and a memory chip that contains the information to be transmitted via radio waves. The reader reads the radio signal and transfers the information to a computer or computing device.

Microfilm & Microfiche
Store microscopic images of documents on a roll or sheet film.
